Calcium Comparison

Other Calcium Supplements vs Angstrom Minerals™ Calcium

Calcium Carbonate

Calcium carbonate is 40% calcium. The rest is carbonate. Of that 40% calcium only about 2% is small enough to be used by the body.

Calcium Citrate

Calcium Citrate is a chelated mineral. It is basically calcium wrapped with a covering derived from citric acid. Calcium Citrate is 21% calcium. Chelation improves the calcium absorption, but the overall usability of Calcium Citrate is still relatively low.

Calcium Lactate

Calcium Lactate is 14% calcium. About 10% of that is usable. It is the calcium found in dairy products. Infants and small children are able to digest lactose (milk sugar); adults often cannot. When lactate remains undigested, the complex calcium lactate molecule does not get broken down. It remains in large molecules, most of them too big to enter the body's cells. Therefore not much of its calcium is utilized.

Calcium Gluconate

This is calcium combined with glucose or blood sugar. Calcium Gluconate contains only 9.3% calcium.

Angstrom Minerals™ Calcium

This liquid Calcium supplement contains ionic Calcium ready for immediate assimilation. Because the Calcium is angstrom in size, it is small enough to enter our cells. Bio-availability of ionic Calcium is approximately 98%*. Due to the nature of Angstrom Minerals™ Calcium, digestion is bypassed and calcium utilization is not reliant upon digestive functioning. Because Angstrom Calcium is already small enough to use, it goes directly from the upper stomach into the blood stream. Angstrom Calcium gets absorbed into our cells more completely and more rapidly than calcium in any other form.

* "Most minerals [from food] are 8-12% absorbable, Chelated Minerals are 40% absorbable, and liquid... Minerals are 98% absorbable, being 7000 times smaller than Red blood cells, with negative-charge for absorption." - Joseph B. Marion; Anti-aging Manual. (Minerals with an electical charge are ionic.)
